My Ipod Touch 2nd Gen is making random static noises when I play music.?

It's spontaneous noise, sometimes way more than others and its a short "tsh" sound. Since it's through the speaekrs and through headphones, I know its not the headphone jack. Anyone know what could cause this or why it would come and go?
