What does "Adobe cannot decrypt this document" mean?

I received a link to download a songbook as a bonus for purchasing an album -- I have Adobe Reader 7.0, and the download is an Adobe file. When I go to open it, I get that message. Mine is not the most recent version of Adobe, but it is fully updated and I download PDFs from all sorts of sources, and haven't any problem at all. I contacted the vendor, who are not only generally unhelpful and a bit nasty, but also not the sharpest knives in the drawer, told me the problem was that I wasn't opening it with Adobe (?) What colleges can I get into?

Well with a 3.3 GPA it will be tough to get into St. Louis and UCLA.. Those require typically 3.6 and higher to be competitive for regular admissions into the University. I am not quite sure about the rest... However, I would go to www.collegeboard.com and look at the Stats for each of the schools you are applying to and look at the averages that are reported from the college themselves.

yes you can do as many blood tests are you need. I'm not sure if belong to a HMO or a hospital group.. Most of the time there is one lab you go to and they will take you blood. You might has to ask the nurses where you willl have to go to get your blood testbed done. If they are at different places try and see if you can get them to be done at the same place.

My period won't stop. Someone Please Help me?

I have been on my period for a year. I can't take it anymore, I am getting increasingly frustrated, hopeless, depressed and I can't go on much longer like this. It goes from heavy to light. I always have to keep light, regular, and ultra tampons in stock along with wearing overnight pads all day every day. I just want it to stop. I have had test after test. Scan after Scan. I have bene poked and prodded so much I'm like a freaking stuffed chicken. I have been sincerely considering some bad mental things, I"m sure you can imagine. It has destroyed my marriage. I'm only 24, and I've seen every specialist there is on the subject, and noone has an answer. Its mainly Heavy with LARGE clots! I had a surgery in June 2009 to remove a ovary and a football size fibroid and Then my periods stopped for a year, and then started in June 2010 and hasn't stopped yet. I can't work, I can't swim, I can't do anything anymore and It's destroying me. I don't know what to do anymore. Noone can give me answers. Someone please Help me. I'm ready to give up. I want children, but can't have them. I'm emotionally a wreck. I gained a LOT of weight after the surgery. I now weight 285. No diabetes. TSH levels are perfect. Glucose is perfect. A normal TSH level is around 5.0, so I don't think that you should be treated if your TSH level is 5.8. You should see a doctor again and get a blood test to check your TSH. If your TSH level is above 6.0 the doctor should send you to and endocrinologist and if the endo thinks you need to be on meds like Synthroid or Levothyroxine or some other thyroid medicine he (or maybe your regular doctor) will give you a prescription. I'm sorry if I'm wrong, but I hope I've helped.

I can only tell you that 149 is high. The target numbers vary from person to person but they usually say the highest it should be is 120. You don't have particularly severe hyperglycemia (high blood sugar). I believe. Be careful with what you eat no more carbs, no more soda juice or sugar. I was an EMT and went to Medical Assistant courses however I don't remember the signs and syptoms of hyperglycemia. I know that with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) are shakyness, dizzyness, and a feeling of being very hungry but not wanting any food I don't remember the others as these are the only 3 I get.

Should I protest about my internship?

I have an internship this summer with a top company. I get paid well, and I'm proud to have the opportunity to work there. The downside is that I hate what field I signed up for- its not hard, its just really boring. I've only been interning for a few days and the internship seems more like a job I had back in another summer (and I can honestly say that that I HATED that job- a total waste of my summer). The job is for 8 hours a day, and I can hardly wait until the first FEW weeks are over. Though I should be grateful for the opportunity, I would like to ask my mentor if I could work in another field in addition to the one I'm in, to 'get more experience' and learn even more; however I reviewed this with my mother and she started yelling at me, basically telling me to 'settle' with what I have; something she tells me time and time again NOT to do. I would still like to work with the company, but I would just hate to work the rest of my summer before going back to college on something I waste my whole day on since I found out what the field was really about. Though my mom said no, I'm in college so I'm really not listening to what she has to say because she's only keeping me down. Turn off everything that can distract you or keeps you from doing your work, and pretend you can't turn it on, or that its broken, so all that you have left to do is do your work. And when you feel you've done a really good amount of work so far, take a break to stretch or do something that is fun, no longer than 15 minutes, and get back to work. Also you can use this "fun thing" as a reward for working so hard. Also, keep in mind that once you're done with these tasks, you can do whatever you want now that its done. And once its finished, you'll feel good too. Really, all you need to start yourself off is say you have to, and then do it. I do this to myself all the time and it helps me. So I hope it works for you too.

Still feeling dizzy after taking Levothyroxine for two days at 50 mcg.?

I feel like I have vertigo cause my head feels really heavy and I get dizzy alot. Could this be from the medicine? The doctor wanted me to try it to see if it would help my symptoms because he suspected that and candida which I have been treating. My liver had been hurting the first day I took the levothyroxine and I had been treating candida for about two months to the day when I took the Levothyroxine for the first time. Could I be getting dizzy due to my liver being in bad shape, because it still hurts today? Btw, the doctor did do tests and said my TSH levels, T3, and T4 levels were ok but, he said that even though they are fine it could still be my thyroid so he suggested me trying them. Can taking the medicine when you don't need it cause your levels to increase and not lower? I mean I have been suffering with bad symptoms for a long time, but I just can't deal with this vertigo.

TSH is 7.3. Is that high?

I am a 33yr old woman and my TSH level is 7.3 and my physician said that it was a "borderline" high level. My iron is low as well but I've had low iron off and on my whole life. All other bloodwork is normal including T4 and T3. From what I've read for the past hour on-line, 7.3 is a high value for TSH. Does anyone know? I have not been feeling well for a while now and trying to figure out what's going on. My physician didn't seem to be concerned at all about my TSH level and asked me to come back in a month for a re-check of it. Is my physician correct in not being concerned at this point? I do know that instead of weight gain, that hypothyroidism can cause, I am having weight loss....but I can't eat hardly anything solid w/out vomitting. I'm living mostly off of protein drinks, yogurt, nuts, soup...etc. I am so tired all of the time and all I want to do is sleep, I'm depressed, sweat very badly when doing any physical activity(never been one to sweat much), constipated, have severe stomach pains from time to time and very frequently have severe nausea (w/out vomitting). I have several other symptoms too but those are my most aggervating ones. I have an Ultrasound scheduled to check gallbladder & if that's normal I'm having an EGD/Colonoscopy. 20 years old and going Bald from Thyroid Disease... please help me?

I am hyperthyroid and have graves disease. My TSH is now 3.4 (normal is 2 or bellow) and it was over 100 but my hair is still falling out and no one knows why. My doctors said it should've stopped falling out a while ago when my thyroid stabilized but it didn't and they have no answers to what I can do about it. I am still on thyroid medication ( tapazole) but only a small dose. I also still get rashes and pain in my scalp. Has anyone else had this problem or know how I can stop this? lab results do not tell the whole story, if your antibodies are high or your system can't convert T4 to T3 properly or the T4 isn't recognized by the system you can have too much T4 but still be hypothyroid, look up wilsons temperature syndrome, the only way to tell for sure is a course of T4/T3 therapy and see if you feel better

TSH level rising for Hypothyroidism?

After having my baby my TSH level was 0.02 and so my doctor reduced me from 125mcg a day to 100. I was tested 6 weeks later and my levels were 1.5. 3 months later my levels are 4.45. My doctor has ruled this as acceptable and a re-test scheduled for 6 months. I'm concerned that my levels will keep rising and that 6 months is too long a wait. Also, I thought any level over 3 was too high.

Late blood test results? Kind of worried they found something?

I haven't had a period since December 24th, I went into the health care center in March to get checked out, they gave me a urinary pregnancy test that came out negative and then told me that I need to eat more. I thought whatever and went home and started my new high calorie intake diet. I went back May 4th because I still hadn't had it (they told me to come back within 1-2 months) they drew my blood this time. They didn't tell me what they were testing for but after they took my blood they gave me the sheet and hormones LH, FSH, TSH, Prolactin, were tested along with another pregnancy test, this time blood. It'll be 3 weeks tomorrow since I had my blood drawn and I still haven't gotten the results back. They send the blood to a hospital in another town not too far from there. I've gotten blood taken from them in the past and got the results back no later than a week after my blood was drawn. I've had my blood taken loads of times from many different doctors and it has NEVER taken this long to get them back. Even my paps-mere results from them didn't take this long. Maybe I'm just paranoid I don't know. I have HPT's at home but I don't feel like wasting them because I know I'm NOT pregnant. Granted I was having unprotected sex for a few months but after I stopped having periods in December I started using protection and have been ever since. I think that if I was pregnant I would've known by now. I think it has something to do with my hormones. I've always been underweight because of my extremely fast metabolism. I have to consume over 2,000 calories a day just to gain a couple pounds. I've been following their advice and keeping a food diary and writing down all the things I eat and the calorie intake I get (I feel like they are treating me like I'm freaking' anorexic or something). I have been putting on a little weight and my measurements have been getting larger which I am very satisfied about but I was having periods every month till December. If it was because of my "weight" why would it all of the sudden just stop? What I'm asking is does having test results that take a long time to come in mean they have found something and are doing further testing? Or am I just paranoid?

Do some clinical child psychologists work outside of the office?

I remember being a mentor of an abused boy, and just hanging out and talking really influenced the kid's life and his grades improved. I think my future career in psychology and working in an office setting would be kinda scary since it feels trapped for a child. If you remember "The Sixth Sense" the psychologist was outside of his office and went to the house, etc. He was like a mentor but a trained child psychologist as well. Of course, that's just fiction, but I had a good sense of its effectiveness while mentoring before. Any thought on that?

Should I find a new doctor?

I have had Hypothyroidism for 16years. After having my daughter 6months ago my thyroid went hyper for a while so my doctor took me off my Synthroid for 2mnths and retested me. After 2mnths of being off of it my TSH was 8.2 so I was put on a very low dose of 50mcg (always been on at least 125mcg). It has been 8weeks I just found out my TSH is 9.76 (even worse than 2mnths ago and I'm on meds for it). My doctor is only wanting to raise it another 25mcg for another 8 weeks but I know from years of dealing with this that I should be on a much higher dose. I am frustrated because I gained all my pregnancy weight back after losing it w/in a week of having my baby, I'm exhausted and can't concentrate. I have given my doctor 5mnths to get this worked out.Should I find another doctor who is willing to be more aggressive? I want to feel energized again and be able to lose this weight. Any advice would be helpful and appreciated!!

I don't think one teaspoon of salt will cause any harm. I used it myself as well several times when a fish was injured or had some disease. Never caused any harm to them. I don't know how much salt you actually need to kill ich. but i recommend you to just get some medicine to be on the safe side.

Singapoorean people are very cruel. what do you think?

I found out that many singaporeans are eating turtles as their dinner and lunch dishes.. most popular eaten turtles are eared eared sliders, soft shelled turtles, and even snake head turtles.. i went to many markets in singapore, and was shocked to find that turtles that are sold for restaurant tables are mostly found in the town side of singapore, like chinatown.. when i got to a market near chinatown, i saw many juvenile or roughly big red eared sliders kept in cages..each cage containing at least 10 to 20 live red eared sliders. the space was seriously cramped. the soft shelled turtles are all stuffed into ann empty pail, all waiting to be sold or killed on the spot. what shocked me most was when i saw the man selling them just use a knife and a sharp metal equipment cutting open the shell of a red eared slider, and digging and slicing the flesh out of a live red eared slider, while it just screeched and groaned in pain... this was consequently done the same to other turtles, frogs and fishes that were sold there.. i just cannot bear to see these people doing things like this just to satisfy their eating needs.. there are so many things they could eat, but why must they purposely breed turtles and other creatures just to kill and eat them? the reason they give is that the population of these creatures are overly populated, so they have to reduce the number of these creatures.. but seriously, they are the ones that breed them out of greed! please give me your views, thanks.

It means you are not getting enough thyroid hormone replacement. If you are one thyroid pills. they will need to be made stronger. Also take your pill in the early am with no food poor other meds for 45 minutes. Take with just a sip of water. Then have your doctor recheck you in the stronger pills.

I have sub-clinical hypothyroidism. Should I consider treatment?

I have had my thyroid hormone levels tested for the past 3 years. There has been a constant increase in the TSH level and slight decrease in T4 level. My TSH level is currently 6.34 while T3 and T4 are within the normal range. Hypothyroidism runs in my family. My father, sister and a paternal cousin have it. I have had excessive hair-loss, weight gain and signs of laziness for the past 3-4 years now. My doctor suggests therapy. Should I consider it? Thank you in advance for all those who care to answer.

Throughout high school I was shy and never really broke out of my "shell". MRI next week...is this MS?

i'll be having an MRI of my brain next week. My symptoms are bouts of fatigue, joint pain, unexplained fever and achiness, full body numbness (slight, kind of like when your foot falls asleep, but less intense). Also, i frequently have migraine-type headaches always on one side and neck and shoulder pain with burning. Both of my eyelids have been twitching for almost 2 months. I've had blood tests to rule out Lyme Disease, which were negative. My TSH (thyroid) was in the normal range (been dealing with hypothyroidism for 3 years). Blood test also show I am anemic. My SED/ESR rate was 40 on a normal scale of 0-20. Anyone have similar symptoms? What were you diagnosed with? Also, if I'm feeling OK when I have the MRI, will it still show signs of an illness/disease? I am a 29 year old female. Thanks in advance.

You have hypothyroidism. You're thyroid is low so, you're doctor prescribed synthroid which is synthetic thyroid hormone for when your thyroid is not producing enough of it's own. TSH stands for thyroid stimulating hormone, and yours is slightly elevated because your pituitary gland is telling your thyroid to wake up. You're period is probably just out of wack because of the hormone changes going on. I have hypothyroidism as well and when my period is off, I go get my thyroid levels checked to see if they are ok. So I think you should just make an appointment at your doctor's office and dicuss your worries with him. I don't think your situation is an emergency so don't worry too much. Unless it was your first time, I highly doubt that your boyfriend did it. I hope you feel better:)

This is not a knife really, the only thing that allows to call it that way is its look and shape. The blade is 3.5 inches long and is neither sharp nor meant to be sharp, i.e. you can't cut anything with it even if you try very hard. The tip of the knife is not sharp too but has a shape of sharp wedge. So yes, if you push really hard, I think it is possible to harm a person. Though I don't think it can penetrate anything harder than t-shirt. I'll be having a flight to the US and I want to take this thing with me. Will they allow me to take it into the plane? If no, how can I transport it: should I put it into the non-hand-luggage (sorry, don't know the term)? TSH level is normal but my T4 level is low?

Doctor said my TSH level is normal but my T4 is the exact same as it was 4 months ago when my synthroid was increased from .075 mcg to .1 mcg. Has anyone ever heard of this or have any ideas why the synthroid isn't raising my T4 levels? I am scheduled to have bloodwork to check prolactin levels and an MRI/MRA to check for possible tumor on pituitary gland. The only two I know off hand is the testosterone and at 24.8 it is within the normal range but the range is 23 to 80 so you're just slightly above the low range. Your TSH level should be between 0.5 and 3.0 mIU/L. so there is no problem there. You can look up the T3 and T4 in Google and probably find them with no problem but evidently they are also normal.

Hair Loss and Thyroid Disease.. how do I stop it?

I am hyperthyroid and have graves disease. My TSH is now 3.4 (normal is 2 or bellow) and it was over 100 but my hair is still falling out and no one knows why. My doctors said it should've stopped falling out a while ago when my thyroid stabilized but it didn't and they have no answers to what I can do about it. It's the end of my junior year of highschool and i want to make my senior year memorable. I am already signed up to start 2 dual enrollment college classes in the fall 2 days per week. Also i am a towne mentor and will be expected to attend numerous meetings and a few mentor events. Plus, i am going to take sociology/ psychology classes and anatomy/physiology as electives. AND i want to sign up for yearbook club for next year. Is this corseload too much to start cheerleading.should i not do it?

Getting pregnant with pcos can be difficult. A lot of women with pcos do not ovulate on their own without medication (clomid) even though you may have a normal cycle it does not mean that you are necessarily ovulating - also some women have bad quality eggs due to the pcos. So chances of miscarriage are greatly increased. It's difficult to get pregnant, but not impossible. I would suggest talking to your doctor about getting on some kind of medication to help ovulation. And be prepared that it may take a while to conceive. Some women get lucky and others do not. That's why it's very important to seek out professional help. For me, I couldn't take the medication prescribed because of the side effects. It took me and my husband about five or six years to get pregnant - we did have one miscarriage last year and currently I'm ten weeks pregnant. And I'm sorry to hear that you're under a lot of pressure from family to conceive - stress certainly doesn't help the situation. Best of luck to you and your hubby.

I been feeling like crap on and off. My tsh is .5 and the range is .5 to 4.5. Ultrasound says both thyroid glands are heterogeneous and enlarged with minimal vascularity. I have 3 lymph nodes in my neck that are also enlarged. And my thyroglobulin antibdies are 31. What does all this mean ? :(

How long would you be in the hospital after a stab wound?

It's hard to say how long someone would stay because everyone's recovery time can vary. I think anything more than 3 inches can be deadly so they might just want to keep an eye on him and make sure that he is on the proper healing cycle. Also, they might want to hold him to ask him questions about why he was stabbed and if he is in danger again when he gets out. If his lung would've been stabbed then it would have deflated and he would have a very difficult time breathing (1 lung) and they'd have to plug it ASAP. Also organs and arteries are two different things. Good luck. :)

I was diagnosed with graves disease in February 2011, anyway how do you cope with it from day to day?

I was on 40 mg. of methimazole the first 3 weeks. I could not get out of bed, I thought i was gonna die:( I was on 40 mg of propanolol 3 times a day, that medicine was awful!! THank goodness i was put on 10 mg of methimazole in mid february and switched to atenolol 12.5 mg =) I am doing very well now, I just worry about the future with having graves! Whats odd to me is that my ft4 has always been normal and my ft3 was 5.7 about a month ago and my tsh was 0.04. I am just wondering if it is not something else, my left eye has always been bigger than my right, the first endo I saw wanted to do rai right away because she knew i had graves by looking @ my eye!! I refused!! She was very rude to me the last time i saw her. I am seeing a new endo May 18, I also am seeing a new pcp May 5. I want a dr. that is going to take good care of me when I am not seeing me endo! Whats odd to me too is that I have mostly hypo symptoms!! My grandma and 2 great aunts all have hypo. I just know that I will take the anti-thyroid meds as long as I can =) or its surgery fo me. I am back to my normal self besides having anxiety off and on. I exercise, and eat healthy. I can't kick the caffeine though =) Otherwise I have no motivation to do anything! I also have fibromyalgia and pcos. I really want my new endo to make sure I don't have a pituitary problem or adrenal problem too! Also I don't have a swollen thyroid and no growths either! so that's good!!

I am SURE I have hashis, I have every symptom possible for the last 2 years. My entire body is out of whack, and both of my parents have hypothyroidism. I know for a fact that I'm next, but i want to catch it early. I've been told now by 3 endocrinologists that since my TSH is normal, there's nothing wrong with my thyroid. Hypothyroid Help!!!! Need to lose weight...?

Hi. I am a 23 year old female, 5'4" tall and weigh 160lbs. In 2007 I was 100lbs until I suddenly started gaining a lot of weight (~30 lbs in 2 1/2 months). I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism later that year (initial TSH was 14). I am currently taking 50mcg Synthroid (one in the morning) together with 30mg Armour twice a day. I am also taking Metformin (2 500mg in the evening for PCOS) and Citalopram. I eat approximately 1400 calories a day (mostly lean protein and low glycemic carbs) and work out for 1hr 15min four to six times a week. I am still gaining almost a pound a week ( my body fat percentage is increasing). What do I need to do to start losing weight?

I believe that in order to read the Bible, one should first be able to read it by himself without another person's translation of it. This is why I want to learn Hebrew, and find the original scripts or copies of them. Ok.. my little brother who will be 12 next month has started this "knife collection" like any knife he sees he has to have it, and he makes crap out of razor blades. For instance the other day when i went to visit, he had taken a magic marker and taken the bottom out and the ink tube thing and some how managed to stick a razor in the bottom of the lid and when it was closed it looked just like a normal marker but when he took the lid off the turned it around he had like a freakin shank, which he proceed to throw in the wall. Failing at Design and Technology! Help!?

Hi! I have recently started doing GCSE Graphics and I'm finding it really hard. I had to choose a D.T. and I thought Graphics would be about drawings (cartoons, logos) which I really like to do (I'm really good at Manga). But, I struggle at making things and doing technical drawings. For example, we had to make a package out of paper nets. We used double-sided tape for sticking edges together. I was the only one not to finish, as I kept cutting into the paper using a craft knife then I couldn't even take the covering of the tape of the paper! My chiuahau had a c section yesterday and will not nurse or lick the puppies?

my vet told me to put the pups with her evry hour (not alone but with my supervision) and my mentor told me to talk to the mother dog and rub them on her while petting her to try and coax her to lick them. You find good mentors by moving around to be honest. How do you know the trainers aren't good, have you met or talked with all of them? I think any respectable trainer has one thing they can pass on to a person, and with each trainer you can learn something new, like a new technique. But it's still true, you can't just stay in one place and allow the trainers to come to you. I would think attending horse shows, even if you aren't riding, and talk to the trainers at the show. Attend clinics in your area and outside your area if it's possible. I learned a lot of things from attending horse shows and clinics, and met a lot of knowledgeable people in the field.

Yeast Infection During Pregnancy?

I am 11 weeks pregnant with my second baby and had my first prenatal exam with my Nurse Practitioner a few weeks back. She did a pap, since I was due for one anyway. My results came back fine, no stds, or hpv, anything like that, but was told I have a "minor" yeast infection. I have absolutely no sypmtoms to a yeast infection at all. No discharge, itching, burning, smell, nothing like that at all. I have also never had a yeast infection before. Could she be wrong? I mean I know its kind of odd to question the nurse practitioner, but wouldnt there be some sort of symptom? Also, I have hyperthyroidism due to pregnancy. Not "hypo", hyper. Which means my TSH is low, and my thyroid produces too much hormones. Could a "minor" yeast infection be from that? I didnt have any of these things with my first child, but that was almost 10 years ago. So everything is a little new to me, since its been so long. Any feedback from women who have prior experience with this is helpful. Thank you so much!

Both are normal. TSH is usually 0.4 - 4.0 mIU/L (sometimes 3, depending on the laboratory) and T4 is 4.5 to 11.2 mcg/dL. Sometimes people do show signs of hypothyroidism with TSH levels over 2.

Is this really hypothyroidism?

Hello, I went in to the doctor because I was having a few odd symptoms. My two main reasons going in was I had frequent urination especially at night time and unexplained rashes (red that is a lot like excema but not) I was having a cold intolerance along with feeling very depressed and irritable. The doctor did a CBC. My thyroid was elevated, my calcium level was just barely high, and my EGFR was messed up as well (84 and they said it should be about 120-100). The doctor put me on a thyroid medication for hypothyroidism and retested my thyroid (TSH). I started the medicine, reluctantly, and shockingly am feeling better. But, I received my TSH level and it was normal (before being on any medications). I am still going back in 2 weeks to retest the EGFR. But, I am wondering if this is not hypothyroidism at all. I certainly do not want to be taking a medication for this if I had one test that was high and the second was normal. With three tests elevated could it indicate something else? Any thoughts?

But if you're worried that there's something wrong with you, don't. You're perfectly fine. And having a plan if there's a fire or an intruder is actually a very good thing to do. HIV risk from knife cutting?

Me and my friend were walking by at night and this drunk guy came out of nowhere and cut me in the leg by accident. The cut is minor although there was a tiny bit of blood coming out. I do however believe the knife was dry. The cut is minor enough so that it probably won't cause a scar. I washed it with some soap three times right after. The knife obviously isn't mine and considering it was some drunk guy it could've been exposed to HIV. Is there a chance of getting HIV from the knife??

Would it be rude to ask my grandma if I could have her car?

My grandma has a nice little Nissan that just needs a new tire and about $200 of body work. She's 75 and doesn't drive anymore and it bugs me to see a nice little car sit and rot away. My cousins always ask for her to write things in her will for them which I don't think is right but I feel rude asking for something big like that. The only thing I've ask for from my grandma was my grandfather's Buck knife. im a 14 year old guy and just a year ago i used to be extremely depressed over home life and the fact that i hated myself, i used to self harm and cry myself to sleep and i used to be overweight but when people started teasing me i lost soo much weight,and didnt eat alot, but i go over all that by self motivation and alot of help from my school mentors and i am perfectly fine and healthy. i just wanted to know what sort of life have you lead and if you were depressed what were you like and how did you get over it?

Attrite and Rewrite? (Navy)?

I joined the Navy DEP in pursuit of a Challenge contract. The only way to get a challenge contract is to DEP into the Navy and choose a rate and then you meet with a Motivator/Mentor who will administer the PST and evaluate you to determine whether or not to grant you a Challenge contract. To this point, I have been unsuccessful in meeting the requirements on the running portion of the PST due to shin splints caused by my own lack of running knowledge. I tried pushing too far/too quickly and have payed the price but am recovering and feel I have learned a valuable lesson. My recruiter told me I do not have enough time left in DEP to get a Challenge contract anymore and that my best option to get into the training pipeline of the rate I am after would be to just go to RTC with the rate I signed up for and go to A school and eventually try and request orders to my desired ratings pipeline. If thats my only option, then so be it. But an alternative has been mentioned to me by a few others to try and Attrite and Re-write due to the fact that I don't want to do the rating I am signed up for (the only reason I signed for the rate was because the system in place calls for a recruit to sign for any rate and DEP in before an opportunity to get a challenge contract). They said the chances of getting into the pipeline I want once I am already doing another job is very slim because there are so many people joining the Navy now. So i guess my question is, before I bring this up to my recruiter, is an attrite and re-write something they actually do to buy more time? Especially nowadays with recruiting numbers the way they are? Thanks for any help or knowledge yall can share.

I have a judicial mentorship with a gentleman who is an old family friend. He always smiles and winks at me during court proceedings, but doesn't to anyone else. The other day he held his hand out for me to put my hand on top of when we were walking down the stairs. Once we got to his office he told me that all his colleagues as who "the gorgeous young woman is in court", referring to me. He also walks me out of the building everyday and opens my doors. Is he interested in me, or just being polite/friendly? If he's interested, how do I let him know I am interested as well while still being a lady?

What happens when you take thyroid pills and your body doesn't need them?

I was "diagnosed" hypothyroid by an endocrine doctor with only an elevated TSH of 4.6 with normal T3 and T4 levels. I had all the classic symptoms which my family doctor was convinced was due to depression and not a thyroid problem. As time went on I was slowly given a higher dose of Armour thyroid until my TSH was within "normal range" and I only felt worse and worse. I would almost feel like the pills were making me have a thyroid problem, if that makes any sense. So the other day I just happened to miss a day and couldn't figure out why I felt so good. I recently had started an anti-depressant but didn't think that was it and then realized I had forgotten to take my thyroid pill that day. I have been off it for 4 days now and I can think clearly and have a lot more energy then before but have found myself incredibly tired in the AM upon waking and PM prior to bed (which isn't a bad thing)? Has anyone experienced a misdiagnosis as being hypo and then feeling worse when it could have been depression all along since they have the same exact symptoms? Thanks.

Can losing weight or over exercising cause thyroid dysfunction?

Hypothyroidism is linked to both sides of my family (my mom, grandma and basically all my aunts suffer from it). Last May I got blood work done and found no issues with any TSH, T3 or T4 levels. I was 23 at the time. That September I set out to lose just 20 pounds to be at my ideal weight. Over the course of 5 months I was able to do so by good diet and exercising 1-2 hours 5 days a week (also, at this time I was taking one graduate course and working 40 hours a week). I was about 2 pounds shy of my goal weight and found myself EXHAUSTED and almost unable to function for over 2 weeks! I went to my PCP in February and she ran more tests and suddenly my Thyroid was way under-functioning and lacking mostly in T3 (less than 9 months since previous checkup). Since then I've been on synthroid and have gained over half of my weight back (I am too exhausted to keep up that workout regimen). I was just wondering if maybe I jump-started the onset of the disease by losing weight or overworking myself. Also, I'm hoping to find some tips for how to get back on track of weight loss now that my energy level and appetite is all out of whack due to this disease. :-/

I want talk with my teacher?

I know it sounds stupid but I have had such a hard time with my parents and they act as if they don't love me, that is probably the truth. They never say anything good but bad, hate me,i.e she kicked me and never spoke to me, my father hit me and never spoke either. I feel so sad as they never consider me. Then, I met this teacher, Miss Snowdon was her name, she spoke to me a lot, english teacher, and I have had a sort of crush but not really. I receive middle-rate care component of DLA for Asperger's syndrome and other learning difficulties. Also I have a disabled students grant of around �6000 per year to cover costs of a mentor, note-taker and laptop. Don't worry, I would have the same reaction but later I would research it and find out the idea behind it. I think, in my opinion, that art is a way to express how the person feels. In history, people used art all the time to get their idea across. Its kind of like a code of how to express your feelings and also to send a message. Idk what message the artists were trying to send but for the mirror I think its a great piece of art because whoever looks into it sees themselves. And that's the punch, everyone is a masterpiece with thier own talents, (deep but true). Anyways, I hope this reminds people to think outside the box and to see the bigger picture. Deciding on whether or not to kill character in my novel...?

I would maybe kill off the character, which would devastate your audience and cause a greater hatred for the antagonist, which is a good thing if that's what you're going for. Or if you love the protagonist enough to keep her around, you may have an assassination attempt by the antagonist that fails thus exposing the antagonists true feelings to the main character. Those are just my thoughts. Also, I'd like to read you're novel, so far it sounds great!

Synthroid doesn't help anymore?

I am 19 and have been taking synthroid for almost a year. My regular doctor prescribed me synthroid 50 mcg to take everyday because I didn't have insurance to see an endo at the moment. I did get my thyroid checked(tsh) when needed, but she never changed the dosage. Now after almost a year taking it, I still feel bad. I have tingling in my legs, arms, ankles, muscle spasms, headaches almost everyday and the most vivid dreams mostly every night(they seem so real) and no periods(i never had regular periods anyways). I also sometimes experience anxiety. I finally have the chance to go to an endocrinologist and will be going soon. Why isn't the synthroid helping? Last time my TSH was checked it was 2.7.

Need help with bestfriend?

my best friend is 12 and I'm 13 and she's started hanging out with these heavy metal people at school. I really don't mind her doing it but they are all like year 11 and stuff.. And ever since she's been with them she swears all the time and plays metal on her phone whenever school finishes and it can be embarrasing because she'll go completely mental and start running round. She acts like a 5 year old :/ And she's still my best friend but I've grown older and I really don't like running around like she does, or having no shame whatsoever like she does. Plus she phoned me up today nearly crying because she'd "accidently" dropped a knife on her wrist or something and was really scared her mum would think she's self harming. And she said it was a tiny cut, and it was a crafting knife she dropped on it. But I'm worried that she's will start harming herself to impress all these people she hangs out with because some of them harm themselfs too, and she already acts, dresses and listens to the same music as them.It's just weird because one moment she was listening to girly music and the next she's dressing in black and hanging out with all these people.. I'm just worried because 1. She'll get made fun of (she already does tbh) 2. It's so embarrasing to be with her even those she's my best friend and 3. she'll start harming herself to fit in.. I know for a fact she is the happiest person EVER but she makes friends with anyone and will do anything to make them like her. Im always hungry. Why? Related to thyroid?

I'm constantly hungry and never feel satisfied. I can't remember the last time I felt full. It wasn't always that way. I was skinny as can be until some time around puberty and then over the years I eventually got up to 300 pounds by age 21. I recently was able to lose 115 pounds over a year and a half. I quit diet and exercise and returned to a somewhat normal diet about 6 months ago and have since gained back nearly 40 pounds. I just got TSH checked and it appeared normal 1.24. I've been reading about hashimoto disease and finding a lot of common symptoms mainly the psychological ones (anxiety, mild depression, agitation, paranoia, delusion). Does Hashimoto's sound likely?

Hashimoto/Hypothyroid and Pregnancy?

Recently I miscarried and a few days later was told I had hypothyroidism. I underwent many tests and I have Hashimoto's Disease. This is the primary cause of my miscarriage according to my doctors. When my husband told his family that I lost the baby due to my thyroid issues they were skeptical saying that one thing has nothing to do with the other and the thyroid is useless like an appendix. Well... it's been several weeks now and my meds are working my TSH is lowering and stablizing and my husband's sister in law called to say that her friend has had her thyroid removed entirely and does not take any meds (not synthroid or cytomel or levothyroxine, NOTHING) and she's 7 months pregnant with a healthy baby and never had a miscarriage threat. Is this BS? I thought if you had no thyroid you MUST be on meds. Am I wrong? Could my docs be wrong? Or is his sister in law just trying to stir s hi t up? I wouldn't be surprised if she was... What do you think? Is it possible? Can you be 7 months pregnant with no thyroid at all and no replacement meds?
